Role Overview

CODVO.AI is seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist - ICU to join our Engineering department in a remote capacity. In this role, you will leverage your advanced critical care expertise to support clinical operations, provide specialized nursing consultation, and contribute to the development and optimization of healthcare technology solutions. Your deep knowledge of ICU protocols and patient care will be instrumental in bridging clinical practice with our innovative engineering initiatives.


What You'll Do

  • Monitor and manage critically ill patients using advanced hemodynamic monitoring systems, including arterial lines, central lines, and continuous cardiac telemetry with ECG interpretation
  • Operate and troubleshoot mechanical ventilators (Puritan Bennett, Servo-i, and similar models) while managing complex ventilator weaning protocols and patient stabilization
  • Administer and monitor vasoactive medications and IV drips using smart infusion pump technology, ensuring precise dosing and patient safety
  • Manage specialized therapies including Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT), demonstrating advanced technical proficiency and clinical judgment
  • Respond rapidly to patient deterioration by leading Code Blue management and rapid response protocols while maintaining composure and clinical excellence
  • Document comprehensively in Epic/Cerner EMR systems, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant clinical records that support patient care continuity
  • Implement and maintain infection control protocols and best practices to ensure patient safety and regulatory compliance
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide clinical insights that inform product development, process improvements, and healthcare technology solutions

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

  • Current RN licensure in Nevada or ability to obtain Nevada licensure
  • Minimum 3+ years of direct ICU nursing experience in acute care settings
  • Demonstrated expertise in critical care nursing and patient stabilization using ICU protocols
  • Proficiency with ventilator management and hemodynamic monitoring systems
  • Strong competency in cardiac monitoring (telemetry and ECG interpretation)
  • Experience with arterial line and central line management and monitoring
  • Hands-on experience with CRRT and other advanced renal replacement therapies
  • Proven ability to manage Code Blue situations and rapid response scenarios
  • Proficiency with Epic or Cerner EMR systems
  • Knowledge of infection control protocols and regulatory compliance standards
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently in a remote environment

Nice to Have

  • Experience with multiple mechanical ventilator models and advanced ventilation strategies
  • Certification in Critical Care Nursing (CCRN) or similar specialty certification
  • Familiarity with healthcare technology development or clinical informatics
  • Experience mentoring junior nursing staff or contributing to clinical education
  • Knowledge of quality improvement methodologies in healthcare settings
  • Background in clinical research or evidence-based practice initiatives
