Role Overview

CODVO.AI is seeking an experienced Perioperative Nurse to join our Engineering department in a specialized clinical support role. In this position, you will leverage your advanced critical care expertise to support our innovative healthcare technology initiatives, working directly with our engineering team to develop and validate solutions that enhance patient safety and clinical outcomes. Your deep knowledge of perioperative protocols, emergency medicine, and advanced nursing interventions will be instrumental in ensuring our products meet the highest clinical standards.

What You'll Do

  • Develop clinical documentation and training materials that translate complex perioperative procedures—including intubation, suturing, chest tube placement, and resuscitation protocols—into clear, actionable guidance
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to identify gaps in infection control protocols, medication administration workflows, and IV drip management features
  • Conduct quality assurance reviews of clinical decision-support features, ensuring they accurately reflect emergency procedures and trauma care standards
  • Maintain current knowledge of evolving perioperative standards and communicate clinical best practices to non-clinical team members
  • Support billable client engagements by providing specialized clinical expertise and recommendations that drive product adoption and client satisfaction

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5+ years of professional nursing experience in critical care, ICU, or emergency medicine settings
  • Current RN licensure in good standing
  • Advanced certification in critical care nursing (CCRN, ACNP, or equivalent)
  • Demonstrated expertise in Code Blue management and rapid response protocols
  • Proficiency with mechanical ventilators (Puritan Bennett, Servo-i) and infusion pump systems (Smart Pumps)
  • Strong knowledge of advanced airway management and emergency resuscitation techniques
  • Solid understanding of infection control protocols and trauma care standards
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with technical teams

Nice to Have

  • Experience with healthcare technology development or clinical informatics
  • Familiarity with regulatory standards (FDA, Joint Commission, CMS)
  • Background in perioperative nursing or surgical critical care
  • Experience with clinical validation testing or quality assurance
  • Knowledge of healthcare data systems and EHR integration
  • Advanced certifications (TNCC, ACLS Instructor, PALS Instructor)

What We Offer

  • Competitive compensation commensurate with experience and expertise
  • Flexible work arrangement with office-based collaboration
  • Professional development opportunities in healthcare technology and innovation
  • Meaningful impact on products that directly improve patient safety and clinical outcomes
  • Collaborative culture that values clinical expertise and engineering excellence
  • Health and wellness benefits including comprehensive medical, dental, and mental health coverage
  • Continuing education support for maintaining certifications and pursuing advanced credentials
