Role Overview

CODVO.AI is seeking an experienced Perioperative RN to join our Engineering Department in a full-time, office-based role. In this position, you will leverage your advanced clinical expertise to support our innovative healthcare technology initiatives, contributing directly to the development and validation of solutions that enhance patient safety and surgical outcomes. Your deep knowledge of perioperative protocols and critical care will be instrumental in bridging clinical practice with our engineering and product teams.

What You'll Do

  • Provide clinical expertise to engineering teams by translating complex perioperative workflows and critical care protocols into technical requirements and system specifications
  • Lead rapid response protocols and emergency procedure simulations to validate system performance, including intubation support, chest tube placement, and resuscitation scenarios
  • Develop and implement infection control standards within our technology solutions, ensuring compliance with OSHA, CDC, and facility-specific protocols
  • Manage advanced airway management assessments and training scenarios, documenting outcomes to inform product refinement and clinical decision support features
  • Administer and troubleshoot smart infusion pump systems and IV medication protocols, identifying usability improvements and safety enhancements for our engineering roadmap
  • Conduct patient stabilization assessments using ICU protocols to evaluate system reliability, accuracy, and real-world clinical applicability
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, software engineers, and clinical advisors to design intuitive interfaces and workflows that reduce cognitive load in high-stress environments
  • Document clinical findings and recommendations through detailed reports that drive iterative product improvements and ensure alignment with evidence-based perioperative standards

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

  • Current RN licensure (active, unrestricted) in your state of practice
  • Minimum 3+ years of professional nursing experience in perioperative, critical care, or emergency medicine settings
  • Advanced proficiency in critical care and ICU nursing protocols, including patient stabilization and rapid response handling
  • Demonstrated expertise in IV drips, medication administration, and smart infusion pump operation
  • Comprehensive knowledge of trauma care, resuscitation techniques, and emergency procedures (intubation, suturing, chest tube placement)
  • Solid understanding of infection control protocols and compliance standards
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate clinical knowledge for technical audiences
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in an office-based environment

Technical Skills:

  • Advanced airway management certification or equivalent hands-on experience
  • Proficiency with smart pump technology and infusion systems
  • Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems and clinical documentation standards

Nice to Have

  • Experience with healthcare technology, medical device development, or clinical informatics
  • Certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), or Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)
  • Background in human factors engineering or user experience research within healthcare
  • Previous experience consulting with engineering or product teams
  • Knowledge of regulatory frameworks (FDA, 21 CFR Part 11) affecting medical devices
