Role Overview

CODVO.AI is seeking an experienced Surgical Technician to join our Engineering department in a client-facing, billable role. You will provide critical technical expertise in surgical and emergency medical environments, ensuring optimal patient outcomes through precise equipment management, protocol adherence, and collaborative clinical support. What You'll Do

  • Prepare and maintain surgical environments by sterilizing instruments, arranging equipment, and ensuring compliance with infection control protocols before, during, and after procedures
  • Manage advanced medical equipment including mechanical ventilators (Puritan Bennett, Servo-i systems), infusion pumps (Smart Pumps), and monitoring devices with precision and attention to detail
  • Administer patient care including IV drip placement, medication administration, and patient stabilization using ICU protocols to maintain hemodynamic stability
  • Execute emergency procedures with confidence and accuracy, including intubation assistance, suturing support, chest tube placement, and resuscitation protocols
  • Provide advanced airway management support by assisting with difficult airway scenarios and maintaining equipment readiness for emergency interventions
  • Implement trauma care protocols during high-acuity situations, coordinating with surgical teams to deliver rapid, effective patient stabilization and resuscitation
  • Document and communicate patient status, equipment usage, and procedural details clearly and accurately to ensure continuity of care and regulatory compliance
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, and engineers to optimize clinical workflows and identify process improvements

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3+ years of professional experience as a Surgical Technician or equivalent clinical role
  • Current certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent credential
  • Demonstrated expertise in medical equipment operation and troubleshooting
  • Proficiency with patient stabilization techniques and ICU protocols
  • Hands-on experience with IV administration, medication management, and infusion systems
  • Comprehensive knowledge of infection control and sterilization protocols
  • Proven ability to perform or assist with emergency procedures (intubation, suturing, chest tube placement)
  • Strong understanding of trauma care and resuscitation protocols
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills in high-pressure environments
  • Ability to work on-site in our office location consistently

Technical Skills:

  • Mechanical ventilator operation (Puritan Bennett, Servo-i)
  • Smart Pump infusion systems
  • Advanced airway management techniques
  • Emergency procedure assistance and support

Nice to Have

  • Experience in a billable or client-facing clinical role
  • Familiarity with healthcare technology platforms or electronic health records (EHR)
  • Additional certifications in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)
  • Experience working with engineering teams or in healthcare innovation environments
  • Background in surgical specialty areas (cardiothoracic, trauma, emergency surgery)
  • Multilingual capabilities
